Hi there!
I'm Karyn - the woman, wife, and mother behind Pint Sized Baker.
I'm Karyn - the woman, wife, and mother behind Pint Sized Baker.
My Family and I currently live in the Panhandle of West Virginia, about 60 miles west of Washington D.C. It's a small country town with lots of apple orchards, cattle, and Civil War Battlefields, but we are still close to the city traffic and museums.
I started baking as a kid with my mom and grandmother. I love sweets and baked goods, but was limited to cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. We never baked bread, except in our bread machine; we didn't make candy, unless you consider dipping something in chocolate as automatic candy; there were no cake pops or crazy seven layer desserts.
I enjoy baking the things that I made when I was a kid, but I also love experimenting with all the fun and super duper, over-the-top, mega calorie desserts.

What do I do with all those desserts?? Well, I do try EVERYTHING! My family sometimes eats them. Mostly, I give them away to friends and family. I think I've lost a few friends because they were gaining weight... So sorry.
Mr. Quart
My husband, Mr. Quart - according to him - is a "good guy, non-douche bag, and loves kittens".
Well, he is a good guy. He has been very helpful with the blog. He proof-reads most of my posts and helps to give me suggestions when I'm not sure what to pick to bake.
His favorite treats are the chocolate ones.
His least favorite are the fruit treats. There is no way he's eating anything with coconut or raisins either. Those treats always go to someone else.
My Little Cup
My daughter, love of my life, my daily muse, and grey hair accelerator, is my Little Cup. You see her a lot in my posts and sometimes her friends join in. She loves to taste test ALL of my cake pops. It's odd because when I first started making them, she wanted nothing to do with cake pops. She kindly informed me that she did not like cake, therefore she did not like cake pops.
Well, times have changed. She LOVES any and all cake pops. Cake is still hit or miss. She'll lick off all the frosting and leave a disgusting cake carcass behind.
The
Yes, we have a few pets and we love them all.
This is Kona Kat. She's a grumpy old girl who was very used to running the house. When Little Cup was born, she never really accepted her and they still do NOT get along.
This is Chrysanthemum, the Hamster. She stays in her habitat most of the time. When our Little Cup asked for a hamster for her 6th birthday, she said she would take care of her. However, she quickly lost interest in the hamster once we explained that she was nocturnal and did not play during the day.
And these are our orphans. Little Orphan Annie and Oliver Twist were rescued and hand raised by our vet technician. She hand fed them every two hours for 8 weeks until we were able to bring them home in June 2012. Annie has an all grey face and Oliver has the white stripe down his nose.
That's my family!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and taking the time to get to know me.
