BEFORE we get into these adorable cupcakes... I want to tell you how excited I am to be participating in the Online BlogCon coming up on Oct. 22. I am such a goober and I find it very difficult to make friends, in person and online. I feel like a complete bumbling idiot when it comes to "introducing" myself and commenting on other blogs. Sometimes I'll write a comment thinking I'm being all witty and smart, but then I'm afraid I'm coming across as a complete "donkey" and delete the comment only to leave a pretty generic, Looking Good, kinda comment... Anyway...
Thanks to the conference, I've been pushed out of my shell and almost forced to reach out. And you know what? I LOVE IT! I am so shocked that I really do have real followers and they like me :) I'm going to continue growing these friendships with the other great bloggers that I am already chit-chatting with and I hope to meet up with a few in the DC area soon!

Here's another fun Mini-Cupcake decorating fun that my daughter and I did!
Little Bloody Ghosts.
My daughter thought they were too cute so we decided that adding the blood would make them a bit scarier!
They were so easy to make as well!
We were baking plain vanilla cupcakes, but then I decided to make a few with some remaining strawberries that weren't going to last another day. So I cut those up and added them to the batter.
The effect on the cupcake liners reminded me of blood seeping through a band-aid and that's where the inspiration to make them bloody came into play!
We baked and frosted the cupcakes, added two mini marshmallows to add the height.
Rolled and cut our Marshmallow Fondant. Draped it over the marshmallows and added little details.
We had quite a laugh making these little buggers.
She ended up with red fingertips so I had to finish adding the red food coloring around the ghosts. Wish I took a picture, but my hands were covered in Crisco... hate that!
Do you want my Homemade Marshmallow Fondant recipe? Should I do a post on how to make it? Do you want a video on how to make it? It's really good! My Little Cup was eating it up and throwing away the cupcake. Seriously?? Yes, seriously!!
Mini Ghost Cupcake Toppers
by
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/2 recipe of Vanilla Cake
- 3- 4 Strawberries, Chopped
- Mini Marshmallows
- Buttercream Frosting
- Pre-Made Fondant
- 3 inch Circle Cookie or Biscuit Cutter
- Red Food Coloring
- Black Food Coloring
- toothpicks
Instructions
Make your Vanilla Cupcake Batter. Add chopped strawberries to HALF the batter. If you want them all to be strawberry, add more chopped strawberries. Bake in Mini-Cupcake pan.
Allow to cool and then frost cupcakes. I used a Wilton 1M Star tip. Stack up two Mini-Marshmallows using frosting as glue and add it to the cupcake. Allow the frosting to dry as you make your ghosts.
Massage the pre-made fondant with your hands coated in Crisco. Roll out and cut 3 inch circles.
Carefully add the circles over the marshmallows and position the fondant to make the folds.
Using a toothpick, add bloody details and faces.
Serve to your Halloween Ghouls!
