Gotta Believe!

I am so happy with the initial response that I have gotten to my Blog. Thanks so much to everyone for stopping by and taking a look at my pictures an videos. If you have a suggestion for something that you need help with, please let me know. I'll be happy to make a video or tutorial to help you out.

To share some personal information with you, my Dad passed away six years ago. I last visited him on Father's Day 2005 and he passed away less than a month later. I did not know at the time that I was pregnant, so I never had a chance to tell him he was going to be a Grandfather. I like to think that he knew because my daughter was born on my Dad's Father's Birthday. Yes, my daughter shares a birthday with her Great-Grandfather.

My Granddad passed away at Easter in 2010. It was his favorite time of year. I was not able to go down for his funeral service, but the Russian Orthodox Church has a 40 day mourning time and I was able to visit for the memorial ceremony and be there for my Grandmother.

Now, my Grandmother passed away the other day. As life would have it, she is being buried on my Father's 63ed Birthday. It amazes me how our lives have come around and have interlaced by some higher power. I'm not a very religious person, but I've gotta believe that my Dad and his parents are reunited in Heaven and are going to enjoy a good 'ol Russian Toast with some good Vodka while I give a toast to them here.

"Za vashe zdrorvie!" Here's to health! And, "Here's to Parents!" However, don't clink your glasses together if they are no longer with you.

In light of the recent events in my personal life, I am still going to draw a name for my giveaway, but it will be announced on Friday instead. I hope everyone understands about the delay. I'll be back next week with dry eyes and more sweets.

Have fun creating!

  2. My thoughts are with you. It is a special thing that you have these intertwined dates with the family arrivals & departures. I'm not religious either but feel that things like this certainly have some spiritual connection and meanings for us. Take your family time and we'll all be here when you get back to it.

  3. Love the pictures you posted of Bill & Nina. Sorry that we are not able to be there for you, but at least your brother is. Have a safe trip and know that you will all be in our prayers...
